Breastfeeding Support

The support I offer starts from pregnancy through to the postpartum period. I teach an antenatal Breastfeeding Masterclass, to help you build on your confidence and knowledge around infant feeding, so you feel well prepared for the early days with your baby. In the postpartum period, I continue to offer both practical and emotional support, whether you're facing challenges such as sore nipples or simply need reassurance and encouragement.

Breastfeeding is something I am deeply passionate about and my aim is to support you in reaching your feeding goals, whatever they may be. Whether you're exclusively breastfeeding, combination feeding, or expressing, I offer personalised support that centres your needs and choices.

For many years I worked as an Infant Feeding Practitioner with the Community Infant Feeding Team at Bradford District Care NHS Trust. I worked alongside a team of IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and Infant Feeding Specialist Midwives. During this time, I developed a wide range of skills and in-depth knowledge, and completed extensive training in breastfeeding and lactation, which I continue to build on.

If you choose to hire me as your Doula, booking my breastfeeding packages alongside means you'll receive seamless, continuous support, from pregnancy through to birth and into your breastfeeding journey, with someone you already trust by your side every step of the way.

I am a qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor with over 18 years'  experience of supporting families on their infant feeding journeys.

"We completed Nikki's breastfeeding masterclass and we are so glad we did! Nikki is absolutely amazing and incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to breastfeeding. I had a really bad experience breastfeeding my first baby, with little support from midwives and inconsistent advice, meaning I didn't breastfeed for very long. That experience came with a lot of difficult feelings. This time we knew we needed to be more prepared and have the right support in place. Nikki educated us thoroughly on breastfeeding, helped me prepare and supported me to work through the feelings I had from my previous experience. She also made sure my husband was involved and prepared to support me which made a big difference. Nikki also provided exceptional support in the first few days checking my latch and making sure baby was feeding well, but it was her reassurance and emotional support that really helped me through the early days. Breastfeeding is going well and it's so comforting to know I can reach out to Nikki at any time if I need her help. We would highly recommend Nikki to anyone preparing to breastfeed."

What is it like to receive feeding  support from me?

"When our son was born, Nikki supported us in achieving that magical first breast feed, making sure I was comfortable with baby's latch and position. I had some challenges with breastfeeding in the first few weeks and Nikki was so generous with her time, always on hand to answer our questions or point us in the right direction. We are incredibly grateful to Nikki for everything she has done for us and would recommend her to anyone."

"Nikki was amazing, she was always there when I needed her with the most compassionate support. When I had pressure from my family to give formula, Nikki was there providing me with encouragement and reassurance. We have now been exclusively breastfeeding for 16 weeks and I have a beautiful bond with my baby. I know that this is mostly due to me having being able to breastfeed her. So thank you Nikki from the bottom of my heart, you have made this journey possible!"

"Nikki was absolutely amazing. I was ready to give up on breastfeeding, as I was tired and my baby was not latching correctly. Nikki helped with the latching and the positioning and spent time answering my queries. She has been a blessing. We have been exclusively breastfeeding for 6 weeks now and baby is gaining weight nicely and thriving. This is all due to Nikki, I am so grateful for her support."
