Hand in Hand Doula
Hand in Hand Doula

I’m passionate about all things birth, you’ll often find me listening to a birthy podcast or diving into the latest research on birth and breastfeeding. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. We’re big fans of game nights and the occasional round of crazy golf!

When I need some quiet time, there’s nothing better than curling up with a cup of tea and a page-turning thriller. Music is also a big part of my life, it helps me reset and recharge. We love to travel, especially to the coast and historical places. My favourite place is Whitby, it holds a special place in my heart, and its unique energy always brings me a deep sense of calm and connection.

I was drawn to becoming a Doula after having worked in the NHS for over 10 years supporting new parents within children's services and infant feeding. Sadly, I was finding more often that women were experiencing birth trauma which was significantly impacting their postpartum and breastfeeding journeys. I knew that I wanted to make a positive change in the birth world and use my skills in a meaningful way - so here I am, and I feel honoured being part of something so special!

About Me
"Nikki was amazing!! I had a difficult start to my journey but Nikki was always there when I needed her, showing me kindness and compassion when I felt that nobody else understood. I would highly recommend Nikki's support to all new mums."

I left the postnatal ward giving formula, as I didn't receive any breastfeeding support, I felt like a failure. Nikki was supportive and reassuring. She helped me step by step and today I am exclusively breastfeeding. Thank you so much Nikki, you have been a blessing."

"Nikki was fantastic! She explained the hormones involved in labour in such a simple and reassuring way. She took the time to help us put together a personalised birth plan, that really reflected what I wanted. She answered all our questions with so much patience. We felt so much more prepared and confident thanks to her."
